My theme this year in my classroom is frogs! With that said, I am always looking for some hoppin' ideas. If your blog is hoppin' you may just see an email from me. If you would like to submit your blog for review, you may do so by emailing me.
Bean Bag Mice
Make little bean bag mice with baby socks. Have the kids fill the socks with beans or rice and tie the end off. Tie some yarn around one end to make a nose and whiskers. Glue on some eyes and a tail.
Summer Cleaning
Or should I say back to school cleaning? Anyway, I am starting to clean out my files on my personal laptop and I thought I would share some goodies before I got rid of them to make room for new ideas. Plus, if they are on my blog, then I can still access them (and so can you)! Keep an eye out for the next few posts!
Putting It All Back Together
The last week, I have been in my room putting everything back together. And as I was working, I started thinking about things I want to change or do more of this year. I have moved over to the Common Core so I am exited to use some new ideas I have picked up this summer. I took a break from blogging and Pintrest for a while to finish up the school year and enjoy the summer, but in just a few short weeks, I will be back in the swing of things. Please share your new ideas! I love to hear what others do.
Last Few Hours
It is the last few hours of Spring Break. I have to say that it was a good break. I am looking forward to going back to work. Now see if I say that over the next few days. Just kidding! I love my job. Let me know how it is for you to go back.
Conferences Update
Conferences went well. I met three of my students parents. The ones I met were good. Did anyone else have conferences? Now we are on Spring Break.
Conferences
During Spring conferences this year, we are doing student-led conferences. As the resource teacher, I do not have a class of my own. So I asked the teachers how they wanted to do this. They suggested that they will just send the family to my room when they are done in their room. So I agreed, but I doubt many of my parents will come talk to me. That is just they types of parents I have this year, unfortunately.
What I decided to do, just in case, and to continue the student-led part, I had each student write a paragraph about what we have been working on in my class. This way, the student has a prompt for what they want to tell their parents. I am hoping this works out they way I planned. I guess I will find out at the end of this week. Then, Spring Break, HERE I COME!
